An appeal to those who recently retired: Come back! We need you.
The year 2020 saw a record number of retirements. This "Great Resignation" is a green light to the Great Reset.
A couple weeks ago, I was shopping for a used dryer to replace a squeaking one at a rental property I own. The used appliance store I went to had only one guy working. He told me that many of the older workers who had been in charge of appliance repair, having gotten used to time at home during the pandemic, opted not to go back to work.
Laziness and comfort can’t be the only reason they decided to retire, I thought. While a lot of them were rightfully frightened of Covid, many of them were also offended at being forced to get an experimental vaccine and wear a useless mask, among other soul-compromising measures mandated by soulless governors.
Whatever the reason, 3.2 million Baby Boomers retired in 2020, according to Pew Research. That is more than double the number who retired in 2019 and over a million more than any of the previous eight years. I believe this mass exit from the work force, which has been been dubbed the Great Resignation, will have some very negative consequences.
The positions that were abruptly vacated by older, more experienced adults are now being filled by younger workers (if anyone at all) who have probably not had the significant training to do the jobs they’re being asked to fill. Additionally, because the number of vacancies is so large, the younger generation can demand significantly higher pay. We can expect quality of service to decrease and prices to go up in many places where we lost the knowledge and wisdom of our older workers.
Aside from quality of work and higher prices, the consequence that concerns me most is the shift in philosophical beliefs that is normally more gradual when generations pass on the torch. “Only about half of millennials identify themselves as a patriotic person compared with 64 percent of GenXers, 75 percent of baby boomers, and more than 80 percent of the Silent Generation, a 2014 Pew Research Center survey found.”1
That doesn’t bode well for our future, especially in fields that benefit from wisdom of the elders: I’m afraid to even do research into how many of our older Intel and medical workers retired. At a time when the World Economic Forum is pulling out all stops to bring about the Great Reset, we need as many patriots as we can get holding the line. Unfortunately, the Great Resignation just gives a green light to the Great Reset.
If you’re one of those who resigned or took early retirement, please consider coming back to work, provided they don’t force you to get vaccinated or do something else against your conscience. We need the older generation to hold the line and pass on to the younger folks the value of fighting for freedom. Let them see you fight. We all need your example.
